Coffee Poop

I think things like this are hysterical. Stolen out of someone else's Instagram feed, but brought many laughs and comments from friends and colleagues today.

Family Portrait

In honor of throw back Thursday, though I don't deal well with the hashtags, I came across a fridge magnet with a family photo from our senior year of college. It's hard to believe it's 13 years old at this point!

Still close to these chickadees... 3 are married, 2 are mothers, 1 with a child on the way. We have a lot of memories!

Blue Yuckiness

Gatorade Frost. Like melted blue otter pops. Dis-gus-ting. I want the electrolytes, sure. I want to listen to what the doctors say, obviously, but why, why why must it taste like blue death?

Mystery Woman

Ever have that pang in your stomach that someone is in the house...that you're not alone? I get it, because I am a scaredy cat and I insist on watching every damn crime drama on the planet. Today, I looked down at my coffee cup and nearly lost my shit because someone with pink lip gloss was drinking out of my coffee. Just as panic set in, I went to grab my phone (docked in the bathroom playing music while I get ready) and looking in the mirror... It was me, I put on pink lip gloss before I finished my coffee. Dumb dumb.

Final Episodes

Thanks, Netflix, for making my sick day not so bad!

Nice to have Breaking Bad streaming while I sit sadly waiting for my fever and headache to get the hell out!

Mismatched Jammies

Pink pajama pants. Pink tshirt from Chinatown. Being sick lends to laying around and being in jammies. Mine are pinks that are mismatched.

Cottonless

When did they stop stuffing and inordinate amount of cotton into the pill bottles? Maybe I just don't buy bottles of pills anymore, but I was expecting to puncture the top and be pulling cotton out for a few minutes before actually accessing my pills. Hmmm...

Go Away Fever

I've had an awful low grade fever and headache since Saturday. Then on Thursday it became an actual fever in the 101-102 range.

When that persisted on Friday I went to workforce health. They sent me to the ER. 102.6 is too high.

So I spent from 4:22PM until 1:28AM at the ER and in tests in the Emergency Department.

Other patients were sad to watch, so I was okay having to wait and being bumped so they could use the machines I needed.

PMO Game Night

Tonight was game night, team activity for the project management office. As a non-member member it's always fun to participate. I took a photo of my game shelf so they could decide what to play. There were so many, they didn't all fit in the photo... I love my board games!

Cinderella, Again

I organized a group of friends to go to Cinderella. For me, it was again, for them, the first time.

I wanted to to again to see Carly Rae Jepsen, of 'Call Me Maybe' fame star as Cinderella and Fran Drescher as her wicked stepmother.

The show was mostly the same, except Fran didn't really sing... Carly's voice was weird, hoping she is just sick. But fun to see nonetheless.

I definitely was missing Laura Osnes, but Victoria Clark stole the show, as usual.

Puzzle Sorting

I started my sea turtles puzzle. Sorted like colors, pulled the edges and corners, built the frame & decided to stop for today.

Titanic the Musical

A one night only concer performance at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. It was awesome. A lot of the original broadway cast came back, there was a full orchestra and a 250 person choir on stage to round out the sound. It was so cool to see such a star-studded, once in a lifetime reunion performance. It was a fun experience.

Crockpotting!

I just woke up with an incredible chill. Like I am freezing in one of my dreams that I'm writing down like a story. I can't get warm. Huddled under the blankets my body is warm. But shaking. Shivering.

No real way to photograph my shivers, and though I started season 2 of House of Cards, I have documented quite enough of my tv viewing lately... so I'll go with my original photo of the day... My new crock pot!

I made wine braised pulled pork... Looking forward to crockpotting many new things!

Commercial Craving

The commercials for the valentine's day specials at Dunkin Donuts finally got me, today.

I went out in the snow to try them.

Brownie batter, cookie dough, and Cupid's choice.

Amazing Decor

Cute French bistro. Exposed brick. Bistro style tables and chairs. Old fashion (trendy) filament bulbs in the light fixtures.   French maître de. French wait staff.

Super cute... Long stemmed red roses tastefully propped behind each of the paintings on the walls. But near our table... Scotch taped to the dirty street facing window. Rad!

Thundersnowpocalypse

Weird day. Lots of snow. Then a thunderstorm with icy rain. Now more snow.

I saw a kid all snow geared out. Super cute. Bad job plowing made taxis run all over the roads. The tree lined streets are really pretty though!

Whatever makes you happy, Mother Nature!

(keviiiiiiin)

Snow preparedness call...
Checked in with the group, no snow yet, everyone was safe.

Dan said: That emoji translates to
"(keviiiiiiin)" - from home alone. I was confused at first at why you were calling us Kevin when I saw this on my phone.

Jac was confused. Typical.

Two Knife Disappointment

Dan, Scott and I went to Schnippers for lunch. Dan ordered the chipotle wedge. Basically a half head of iceberg slathered in cheese and chipotle ranch.

He went to pick up his knife and fork to cut in and enjoy, but alas... Two knives, no fork, and one disappointed look! Too funny not to take a photo (of the actual moment recreated... It looked the same, I swear!)

Lunar New Year Dinner

Christine, Shawn and I went down to Chinatown to celebrate the year of the horse.

Fun adventures... Closed restaurant, chatty strangers trying to give advice, mediocre noodles and veggies, yummy Peking duck, decent dumplings, coconut bubble tea, new Chinatown signs, and a group shot on the subway platform. It was too damn cold outside and we couldn't find a lucky cat to be in the photo with us.

Homework Over Dinner

I had some workflow diagrams to review and edit. I have done a bit every day, but did a bulk today while eating my soup for dinner.

I thought it made a funny photo, as it was my only productive moment of the day! Lazy Sunday!!

Comfy Cozy

Fuzzy socks, flannel pants and the Winter Olympics. Nice way to relax on the weekend!

Trash Revealed

One of the worst parts of the snowstorms in NY is when the big piles of snow along the curbside start to melt, revealing all of the trash that was left before the snow started.

It's gross!

Cookie Name Change

It's Girl Scout Cookie season! I avoided buying any, but got a box of caramel delites as gift today. Why caramel delites? Isn't it equally, if not more prudent that they are made of coconut?

The box sitting on the corner of my desk sparked a lot of conversation about why they weren't called samoas anymore. After a bit of research into when the name changed, I learned there doesn't seem to be concern about offending people from Samoa, but rather, just a different baking company licensed to produce them.

Excepts from Wikipedia:
Girl Scout cookies are made by large national commercial bakeries under license from Girl Scouts of the USA. The bakers licensed by the organization may change from year to year, though this is not common. In 2008 the licensed companies were Little Brownie Bakers (LBB), a subsidiary of Keebler, which is owned by Kellogg's; and ABC Bakers, a subsidiary of Interbake Foods, which is owned by George Weston Limited.[10][11][12]ABC Bakers has been licensed to produce Girl Scout cookies since 1936.

Girl Scout cookie varieties include:

Buyer and Cellar

Michael Urie's one man show, about an unemployed actor who takes a job working in Barbara Streisand's basement mall.

It was fun to see his clever acting and impressions, but it was a lot of the same and got a little long. I'm happy I went, but won't be going again.

Bronx Bombers

I don't know what I enjoyed so much about it. But I really liked it. I thought the story was so well written. So interesting. Lou Gehrig, Micky Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Reggie Jackson, and Derek Jeter.

Snowy Trees

There was barely enough snow to make a difference, but it did make for some lovely trees. I love getting off the subway and seeing the street lined with lovely white trees covered with a dusting of snow.

Worst Super Bowl Ever

I went to Oli & Michael's Super Bowl party. They asked who I hoped would win. I said, Kian would say, "boooo Broncos", but I am just hoping for a good game.

It was a terrible game. Poor Peyton.

Since I wasn't going to the party until last minute, I was made a last minute treat.

I started making football shaped brownies, but couldn't find the football shaped cookie cutter. So I just made regular brownies and helmet shaped Rice Krispy treats.

BYOK

Bring your own knives. People are constantly getting hurt trying to use dull knives in the soup kitchen. I'm always grateful for my own awesome knives, bought on sale!
